Sedibeng receives award for its unqualified audit opinion for the 2009/10

On the 12 April 2011 at the Riverside Lifestyle Resort, Sedibeng District Municipality received a Municipal recognition award on its unqualified audit opinion for the 2009/10 financial period. The award was handed over by the MEC for Finance Mr. Mandla Mkomfe and supported by the MEC for Local Government & Housing Mr. Humphrey Mmemezi at the Extended Municipal Finance Indaba. This is the fourth consecutive unqualified audit opinion Sedibeng District Municipality received over the last four financial periods.
“The award allows the Sedibeng Municipality to attract investors, which will then create socio-economic opportunities in our area” says Sedibeng District Municipality Chief Financial Officer Brendon Scholtz who in partnership with the Sedibeng Municipal Manager Yunus Chamda and its Management Committee led the clean audit programme.
The Chief Financial Officer further stated that the Sedibeng District’s Executive Mayor Cllr. Mahole Simon Mofokeng and the MMC of Finance Cllr. Busi Mncube played a pivotal role through their leadership in ensuring and sustaining the clean audit programme in consultation with the Office of the Provincial Auditor-General.
The award was accepted on behalf of the Sedibeng District Municipality by the Chief Financial Officer Brendon Scholtz and Municipal Manager Yunus Chamda.
