On the 18th April 2011 the Sedibeng District Municipality officially presented the newly refurbished Madiba Road to the people of Ratanda in Heidelberg in the Lesedi Local Municipality. The 630m long road was in excellent condition, and the refurbishment process created temporary employment for 35 people over a 3 month period. In his short address, the MMC for Transport and Infrastructure; Cllr Simon Maphalla encouraged the community of Lesedi and Sedibeng in general to protect and care for their assets as the government goes to great lengths in providing and procuring them.
The event was attended by the MMC of Transport and Infrastructure – Cllr. Simon Maphalla as well as the Municipal Manager of Lesedi Local Municipality Mr. Pieter Van Den Heever.
