A new political management team at Sedibeng District Municipality.

The Sedibeng District Municipality held its 23 Special Council Meeting on the 26 May 2011. This meeting was of special significance because it was the first such meeting after the 2011 Local Government Elections, being a reflection of the voice of the people of Sedibeng, in a maturing South African Democracy. One of the main functions of the meeting was to elect the new political leadership at the district level.
After declaring the meeting open the Municipal Manager Mr. Yunus Chamda proceeded in outlining the process of electing the new Councilors that will take the municipality forward in the next 5 year term of office. The following people were nominated and duly elected into their respective positions.

Over and above these strategic leading councilors a total of 38 other PR councilors will represent their local municipalities at the district level by serving on various portfolio committees.
The newly appointed Executive Mayor thanked all involved in his election campaign and reiterated the fact that “The hard work starts now as we prepare to put plans in motion to improve the quality of life for the people in Sedibeng.”
