Blood Donors Honoured

[16.05.2008] The South African Blood Services, together with the Sedibeng District Municipality, held the South African Blood Services Awards on Friday, 16 May 2008 at the Vereeniging City Hall.

It was fitting to acknowledge and thank all who have eagerly donated blood in the Sedibeng Region as many South Africans are still unaware how important it is to donate blood and much must still be done to create blood donation awareness.

Sedibeng MMC: Health, HIV/AIDS, EMS, Crime Prevention, Social Development, Cllr. Maipato Tsokodibane, welcomed all invited guests and Cllr. Tsokodibane and SANBS CEO, Dr. Loyiso Mpuntsha, presented donors with the awards.
Donors were awarded for donating 100 units to 250 units.
Some members of the local media were also present to receive awards, such as VUT FM and IFM.
