Mlungisi Hlongwane when delivering his speech, congratulated everyone who participated and made it clear to participant that they are all winner.  He also said “This Golf Day is part of a series of activities organized by the Sedibeng District Municipality to highlight our vital history, Human Rights.  It is all too easy for us as South Africans to be lulled into the comforts of our new democracy and to forget our past.  Often people think about human right in its larger context of universal freedom, the right to freedom of movement, freedom of association freedom of speech etc.  Yet, it is often the lesser realized freedoms that are a huge part of our achievements as South Africans to liberate all our people”.

Executive Mayor Hlongwane recognized the contributions of the sponsors including: Price Waterhouse Coopers, Maredi Telecom, SA Post Office, Telkom, DCD-DORBYL (Pty) Ltd, Capacity Outsoursing, Xtensive ICT Academy, Land Bank, Quest Staffing Solution, Verge Management Service, Verge Management Service, AV Electonics, DBSA, Meisi Nkaiseng, Land Rover Vereeniging & SAB Miller.
