Mr. Rick Reato of Mittal Steel - “We have confidence in this region & we are here to stay”.
Mr. Rui Graca of Eye of Africa, a project funded by an Internationally based Macquirie bank, presently developing two projects in Sedibeng, mentioned through property and commercial development more opportunities will be created for locally based companies to boost the economy of Sedibeng.

On his closing remarks the Premier Shilowa prompted Mittal Steel to have a time frame and a working plan for BBEEE and Women Development Strategy as that already implemented by Government.
The Premier urged Riviera on Vaal to realize that the consistency of newly considered Hotels should not only be focusing on the 2010 but as well as beyond, he added “We mustn’t find ourselves repeating the same mistakes that happened during the World Summit on Sustainable development.”
Their was great enthusiasm as local business punted that the future of ‘Gauteng is in the South’ while the Premier cautioned that much work was needed to realize this expectation. In his earlier the Mayor of Sedibeng District Municipality, Clr. Mlungisi Hlongwane, referred to the future of Sedibeng as a future Metro.
Once again the Premier pointed out the extent of work needed to realize that ambition. He concluded by the following remarks: “We as Sedibeng will settle for nothing less except being declared the fourth Metro in Gauteng.” The Mayor further thanked the people for taking their time to attend to his call and to have a good evening further
