Re: Outreach Programme –Taking Services to the people.
The Office of the Executive Mayor in partnership with Department of Gauteng Social Development, Department of Home Affairs, SASSA, Lesedi Local Municipality and Uniting Reformed Church will on Sunday 27 October 2019 host an outreach programme at Heidelberg under a Theme “Building a Caring Society. Together.
The prime focus is restoring dignity of those less privileged such as, persons living with disabilities, elderly and youth headed households.
The campaign, also aims to inform communities of the various social security programmes available to them and how these can be accessed. The Uniting Reformed Church’s task is to pray and intercede for the government and society, intervene on behalf of the suffering, the poor, the wronged and the oppressed within our society, through a church service.
October is social development month, in this month government aims to engage communities to identify their challenges and put together action plans to deal with these challenges.
Details of the event are as follow:
First phase Church service led by Rev. Prof T Lephakga
Time: 9:00 – 10:00
Second phase led by the Sedibeng Executive Mayor: Cllr Busisiwe Modisakeng
Venue: United Reformed Church
Time: 10:00-11:00
Phase three led by the MEC for Gauteng Social Development: Thulisile Nkabinde-Khawe (ICROP) Programme
Venue : Ward 5 & 6
Time 11:00 – 16h00
