It was that time of the year again, the Vereeniging Fresh Produce Market together with other stakeholders such as Blue Ribbon accepted the invitation to go and celebrate the Nelson Mandela Day (67 minutes of service) at Kotulong Community Center (64 Children's home) in Midvaal
"If it were up to us, we would have closed the offices and take the whole staff to go and celebrate with the children at the orphanage" said Mr Jali Manager Fresh Produce Market.
The team spent time with the children and staff from the kitchen to the play grounds interacting with them on activities, topping it with Fruits and Vegetable sponsorship. We appreciate to be part of this initiative where it also gave us a chance to showcase the fresh produce market products and also educating the kids about the importance of taking fruits and vegetables on their daily meals. Some other dry goods items were sponsored to the center such as sanitary pads and roll-ons etc.
"I am very proud of the Fresh Produce Market staff for voluntary contributing money from their pockets to support these kids. This is the forgotten spirit of UBUNTU that should be practiced daily and not only on such important days. We are thankful to the management and staff of the community center and we would like to congratulate them for doing such a great job.
